I’m too busy

Is anyone really that busy?? And I mean too busy to answer a text at some point the same day you receive the text? Who doesn’t have 3 seconds to answer a text? I think everyone does.

I dated someone who was notorious for not responding to texts, and not just my texts. One night a couple of his friends and I were together and we all sent him a text and voted on who would get a response. I won that bet but only because my text suggested we get naked later that night but I digress. Anyway, this guy used to tell people that when he didn’t respond to a text it was because “no response is a response.”

When I was dating the Bartender (see blog post titled “The Bartender” for more on him) he wouldn’t timely respond to my texts; his reasoning was he was busy working. We all work dude, so that excuse doesn’t fly with me.

How about just telling the truth and instead of making people wonder if/when you will get a response, just admit you aren’t interested enough to give the courtesy of a response. I realize most people are thinking well just move on, they obviously aren’t interested. This is common sense, but for some reason I feel it’s disrespectful and rude and it would take so little to be courteous.
