Going on dates

Is age just a number?

Can you date someone 5 years younger than you? What about 10 years younger?

For men, I think that answer is a given. It’s accepted and even a foregone conclusion. For women, not so much. I recently moved to a new state and haven’t met a lot of guys my age; most are younger than me.

Personally, I like dating younger men. They are less set in their ways, more spontaneous, more likely to want to go out and do things. I met someone while I was out one night; he was very easy on the eyes, could hold a conversation, had a great job.

What’s the problem you ask? Well for one, I need to get my hearing checked. I’m sure he told me he was 47 so when he asked me out, I went. We had a few dates and got along really well.

It wasn’t until I was out one night with a girlfriend, and he met us for a drink when I learned he was actually 37. You’re how old?!?!?!?!? After I almost choked on my drink, I told him I couldn’t see him anymore and he didn’t understand. He said age is just a number. Some of my friends agree with him, some do not. Is age really just a number?
