Fun in online dating

Online dating is fun – said no one ever

After my divorce I tried online dating and quickly learned about fake profiles.

Working on an off-shore oil rig, serving overseas in the military, or looking like one of the hottest person you’ve ever seen equals fake. Bad grammar or an instant response to your message also equals fake.

I learned the hard way (no pun intended) to not give out my number – it resulted in lots of dick pics. Be careful out there, don’t give out your number right away and if they want to take the conversation off the app to another platform, don’t do it!

And how about a lesson in those acronyms – NSA, FWB, DTF, Netflix and Chill, Benching, Ghosting, and ONS to name a few. Look for my next post about these and other fun terms!

I’ve seen so much of this already, without even signing up for any online dating apps. Women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s seem to be a high target market for such cat-phishers. It’s a scary online world. Has put me off from even considering online dating apps. Am interested to learn from your experiences.
